Thai 72 is a Thai Restaurant on West 72nd in New York City. The food here is amazing and they have a wide spread of vegan and vegetarian options on their menu. In my opinion, this is the best Thai food I’ve ever had. However, the last few times I’ve visited, I’ve had a poor experience. The server I had these past few visits has ignored my existence and has shown blatant attitude to my boyfriend. We have done nothing wrong to deserve this level of disrespect as we are frequent diners there and tip well as well. All other staff there is kind and the restaurant is kept very clean.

Here is everything I got and my in depth ranking:
- Drunken Noodle with Mock Duck $18 – 9.3/10
These noodles are amazing! They are flat noodles that are seasoned perfectly – they don’t make you feel greasy as some drunken noodles do. These noodles come with many protein options, but I chose the mock duck because it is vegetarian. I always appreciate when Thai restaurants have more than tofu and vegetables as their vegetarian/vegan options. - Red Curry with Mock Duck $19 – 8.7/10
This curry has great flavor and I’ve gotten it with tofu and with mock duck, and either way it tastes great. I do normally request this spicy, and it is insanely spicy, so beware. That being said I do wish it had more bamboo shoots as it used to in the past, but regardless it is still a staple for me. - Chive Pancakes $12 – 8.5/10
I love the chive pancakes as they have their own flavor aside from the chili soy sauce served with it. They do tend to be a little oily and as delicious as they are, having more than three might make you feel a little full. - Green Curry with Mock Duck $19 – 7.9/10
This curry is very similar to the red curry, however I feel as it has slightly less flavor than the red curry which is why I’m ranking it lower. On the menu the ingredients for both the red and green curries are the same, so I’m assuming the curry paste is different. - Emerald Vegetable Dumplings $12 – 6/10
These dumplings are your average vegetable dumplings, there is no wow factor to them. I personally did not find them to be special. I love dumplings, but these ones tasted generic.
Thai 72 has great food and normally great service, aside from the past few times I’ve gone. Barring the lack of respect, I would rate Thai 72 overall an 8.7/10.
